Rory and Ethan: Back to the 90s
Housewife Aurora 'Rory' Vance and her husband Ethan Hayes find their relationship fractured by life's hardships, leading them to the divorce registry. Just as they leave, an out-of-control car crashes into Aurora 'Rory' Vance. Ethan Hayes rushes to save her, and both are unexpectedly transported back to their youth in the 90s. Aurora 'Rory' Vance opens her eyes to see her mother, who passed away years ago, filling her with emotion. Realizing her father, George Vance, will soon perish in a factory explosion, Aurora 'Rory' Vance resolves to change everything. Aurora 'Rory' Vance goes to the factory to get George Vance out, warning him of an impending explosion in the workshop. However, Director Lin dismisses her, Vivian Shaw scoffs at Aurora 'Rory' Vance, and even George Vance doesn't believe his daughter. Blocked by Vivian Shaw, Aurora 'Rory' Vance and Auntie Xue are kept outside the workshop. The explosion occurs, and Aurora 'Rory' Vance collapses, only to see Ethan Hayes appear with George Vance. Since Ethan Hayes saved George Vance, Aurora 'Rory' Vance deduces that Ethan Hayes also traveled back in time, but she doesn't reveal her own time-traveling identity. Knowing the factory will soon go bankrupt, and to secure their family's future income, Aurora 'Rory' Vance decides to use her foresight to buy lottery tickets, unexpectedly running into Ethan Hayes. After winning the grand prize, Aurora 'Rory' Vance disguises herself to claim it, only to discover another huge lottery winner in another store in town. Aurora 'Rory' Vance realizes it's Ethan Hayes and covers for him. With initial capital accumulation and foreknowledge, Aurora 'Rory' Vance secretly opens a clothing factory, planning to earn money to pursue her teenage crush, Ethan Song. However, Ethan Hayes also opens a clothing factory, competing with her. Vivian Rong, seeing Mr. Mu Gang's business thriving, actively pursues him. Both implicitly decide never to be together again in this life and begin new relationships. Yet, the trajectory of fate brings them closer again. Through their interactions in this reborn life, they eventually overcome their differences and reconcile.
