Chapter Forty-Five

It's been two days since everything that happened with Ethan, who has woken up and is doing okay. Yesterday the whole day was spent coming up with a plan to get into the town, we knew one thing for definite and that was I needed to get into the town. Which was why the planning was taking this long, Cody didn't want to put me in any danger so every plan he was turning down! Reece couldn't wait to get control of the town again, one so all this mess would be over but two, he could make Justin pay for what he did to Kayleigh. After a few long hours of going over plans, Cody finally agreed to one, only because him and most of the pack will be coming with me! Which honestly, I didn't mind too much because I wasn't thrilled about the idea of going in there alone if I'm being honest. We decided the best time to go into the town would be really early in the morning, before the sunrise kind of early. The whole pack met at the very edge of the border, another part of the border. No one seemed nervous apart from me! I didn't know what would happen if this would turn south, I didn't want anyone else to get hurt! "Listen up, I'm not going to lie to you and say this is going to be safe because it will not be. The humans have been very clear about keeping us out of the town, so we just have to he careful and stay out of sight until it's time" Cody says talking to the pack members, I should probably tell you what the plan is right? We're all gonna sneak into the town and go in different directions, Reece is going to lead a team of people to take all of the towns weapons that they keep in the town hall. Scott is going to go with a group of men to turn all the power off, that way it's going to be dark with no street lamps or anything. While me, Cody and a group of men head to the town centre, just to wait to for the others to get back so the plan can start. Should I leave the last part of the plan a surprise? Yeah I think I'll just wait to show you. We all enter the town together before everyone starts to dispose, Cody held my hand so tightly as I lead him and the men towards the town centre. It was quite a walk as we were trying to be as stealthy as possible, from what I've seen they have all of the guards at the borders and none walking the town, not a smart move in my opinion. As we reach the centre all the street lamps shut off, which just tells me the first part of the plan was a success. Soon Scott's and Reece's team were back awaiting the next part of the plan, this is going rather smoothly. "Okay we all know what's next, this side go take the border guards while the rest of you, storm the houses we showed you and make sure they can't call for help, ready?" I ask looking around at everyone, they all had their game faces on sending me a nod "okay let's go" I say which soon makes everyone go off in different directions, apart from me as I was told just to stand here. I begin to see pack members pulling police officers out of their homes, with duck tape around their mouths and handcuffs around their hands and feet. They're placed in front of me before the pack members go and get more, soon the place was filling up with tied up police officers. After around ten minutes, my dad and Justin were being pulled out my dads house by Cody and Reece. They're thrown to the floor to join the rest of the police, who all looked scared. I take a look at the pack member who was keeping count, he looks around sending me a nod telling me everyone was here. "Well, I'm glad you all could join me here this fine morning. I can guess that you're all quite shocked on what just happened and why I'm stood here, well I can answer all your questions with this" I say holding up the document that mum signed, none of the officers knew what it meant but I could tell by my dads eyes he did "I am the new leader of this town and as you can see, I've taken control of it and plan to keep it that way. While I've been away I've seen the horrible way you've been treating the people and it's disgraceful" I say as the huge lights start to turn on, right in time I see. "Erika why are you doing this, we had a good thing going?" My dad asks somehow ripping the tape from his mouth, both of his hands still being tied up. "You had a good thing going? You were controlling people and when they didn't agree with you, you'd kill them! You're a monster that's finally getting stopped" I say as people start to walk out of their homes confused, to them the bright lights could have been, aliens, Jesus or something bad happening. They all turn to look at me than at all the police tied up, some I could tell were so happy while others were terrified. I stand on the edge of the fountain in the middle of town, which luckily was empty for some reason. "We're not here to hurt you in anyway, my mother the previous leader of this town and has signed it over to me. All of the rules and restrictions and fear that these people have made you feel, it's all over. Me, my mate and all the members of my pack welcome you" I smile looking over at all the shocked people, some even start to cry while others cheer. "Don't listen to her, these things can't be trusted remembered what they did!" My dad shouts fighting to get his hands free but was failing, he just doesn't know when to quit. "What happened nearly a year ago was a huge misunderstanding, I was with you when it all happened and was so confused on why. But than I've spoke to some people and now know the answer, Martha was saying some things that really angered some of the members of the pack which resulted in the attack. I can assure you that these people are some of the nicest you're gonna meet, if it wasn't for Martha that attacked would never have happened" I say hoping to calm the nerves of the people, everything I was saying was true "and as for you, you're gonna talk about what happened at the attack, when everything I've saw from you that attack was nothing. You let the power go to your head until you were out of control, but I'm here now and there is no way I'm gonna let you hurt my pack members and the people of my town" I say looking my dad up and down in disgust, he wasn't the man I knew last year. "But you're my daughter Erika-" he says but I soon cut him off, I knew what he was trying to do. "Leave it out, if you really care about your children than where's Ethan?" I ask crossing my arms looking at him, he looks taken back and starts to look around frantically "can I tell you where he is, he's back at my pack in hospital, he was found by one of the border guards having been savagely beaten to a pulp, and I wonder who did that" I say my eyes going over to Justin who was avoiding eye contact with anyone, my dads turns to look at Justin so shocked and disgusted himself. "You attacked my son?" My dad asks Justin who couldn't answer, I guess he isn't this big police officer when he can't even get the duck tap off his mouth. "Now that would have been shocking to me if I didn't already know what you're like, it's not only Ethan is?" I ask him which his eyes soon go wide, he knows what I'm about to say "you were the one that killed Kayleigh" I say which causes a series of gasps to erupt from everywhere, especially from my dad who looked shocked beyond words. "I would enjoy this moment if I were Justin, you see there is one person who wants nothing more than to beat your face in" I say turning to look at Reece who had his eyes trained on Justin "everyone wave goodbye to Justin, take him away Reece" I say moving aside where Reece just chuckles. "I will happily oblige" he says picking Justin up by the scuff of his neck and pulling him away, it was nice knowing him actually, no it wasn't. "No one has to be scared anymore, the pack and this town can all get along knowing there isn't gonna be anymore fights. You can all get back to your normal happy lives and there is no border anymore, you can go visit the pack whenever you want and the pack members can come here, we're no longer enemies" I say moving to stand beside Cody, who wraps his arm around me. All the towns people start to cheer and hug each other, I even spot Sam waving at me while crying happy tears. I send her a little wave before looking down at the sea of officers, who looked terrified. "Now as for you lot, I'm not gonna hold what happened over your heads as I know you were just following orders. But if for some reason you don't agree with how things are going to go and you're gonna cause trouble, you'll just end up like Justin and I can assure that's something you don't wanna happen" I say with a smile over to them, I have a feeling Reece is enjoying himself right now. "Erika, I didn't know what Justin did to Kayleigh, if I did there would be no way I would have gave him the power I did" my dad says moving across the path while the other officers get released, he was the first person "I only did this to keep everyone safe, I didn't want anyone to have to go through what we did. Than these people came and I saw that as a way to keep everyone away from the world, I know what I did was wrong and believe me I regret it. Look what I did, I kept my own daughter away because of who she fell in love with" he sighs pointing over at Cody who sends him a little smile, wait are they getting along?! "I know I don't deserve it, but please try to forgive me for everything" my dad says tears welling up in he eyes as he spoke, I walk over wrapping him in a hug answering his question that way. Cody walks over patting my dad on the back with a smile, my dad pulls away and holds his hand out to Cody. They both shake hands with a smile as the towns people start talking to the pack members. We're no longer enemies!
