Chapter 75
Third-Person's POV
Felicity locked himself in the bathroom after he unexpectedly felt strange the moment Elyana's skin touched his. It seemed there was a high voltage of electricity crawling onto his skin, giving him a fever-like feeling.
He couldn't believe he would be static and terrified at the same time by what he felt. He hid inside the toilet to get away from Elyana, but Elyana followed him.
He felt he was in a horror movie, getting chased by someone to hurt him. The knocking stopped after a while and he heard people talking outside.
"Ma'am?" He heard Daldalita. "I have medicine for an upset stomach if you need some," she continued. He tried to listen to see if he could still hear Elyana's voice before opening the door. When it seemed she wasn't with Daldalita, he finally opened the door a little.
"Thank you, Daldalita, but could you just please take my bag, I think I have medicine in there for stomach aches," I told her.
"This is the medicine. I have some," Elyana stated, holding the medicine in her palm and a glass of water in her other hand.
Felicity was wrong to open the door. He didn't notice Elyana was still there, waiting for him.
The matchmaker couldn't look her straight in the eye. "W-what kind of medicine is that? It might not work for me," he told Elyana before turning to Daldalita to get his handbag.
Daldalita rushed to retrieve it and the two remained silent while she was gone. Elyana felt rejected because Felicity refused to take the medication she was giving him at the time.
Her face turned dark. She remained to stare at Felicity, who still held the door slightly open.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have forced you to eat earlier," Elyana suddenly said. There was a trace of deep regret in her voice that tore Felecity's heart apart.
"Are you saying? It wasn't your fault. Your late breakfast was delicious, so I ate some too. Don't worry about that! My stomach ache will eventually go away a bit." Felicity tried to cheer her up.
"But..."
"I'm okay...don't worry," Felicity interrupted. "I'll be fine." Luckily, she smiled back.
"This is your bag, Miss Felicity!" Daldalita came back, handing down the bag she took to its owner.
"Thank you," Felicity said as he took it from her.
She stayed there as if waiting for another order, but since that was all he needed, she immediately told her that was all he needed.
Daldalita once again left him alone with Elyana. Felicity pretended he was looking for something inside his bag, even though there was no medicine—not even one.
"I thought there was some, but it is not in my bag," he admitted after searching. "Anyway, I will not be here much longer; I need to go somewhere this afternoon. I still need to go to the office for some folders, so I better leave early; there might be traffic," he announced.
"How about later, after lunch? I will tell them to cook whatever you want," Elyana suggested, but Felicity had already decided.
"Sorry, girl, I will just visit again next weekend or if I have extra time; my schedules are extremely hectic, even though I use weekends to meet the needs of my clients," her best friend explained.
Her snout grew longer, and her eyes turned sad. She looked like a small child who was about to cry after not getting her wish. Felicity felt an effect in his heart, but he didn't want it to win.
He immediately looked away to avoid it. He even went back to his bag and pretended to look for something inside. What he saw was his car key and that was what he decided to take so he finally got away.
Elyana noticed that and she tried to stop him. "Can you please stay for a bit longer?"
"I'll be right back, promise..." he replied without looking at her.
Elyana didn't say anything after, but she felt an extreme pain right in her stomach. Felicity had already started walking away and he didn't see how much Elyana was struggling. When he was in front of the gate, the two guards were inside the guard house so he needed to wait for them.
One of the guards was holding the phone and talking to someone with a worried look on his face. He gestured his hand to the other guard and immediately ran to the control table to press the button that would open the gate.
"Ma'am! Make way! Emergency!" the guard with the phone shouted at Felicity. He saw a car in the side mirror speeding up and he had no choice, but to move to the side and let the car pass before him.
Felicity's heart started pounding right after the car went out of the gate. He accelerated subconsciously, following the car.
He dialed the number of the mansion. One of the servants answered. "What happened?" he asked.
"Miss Elyana is bleeding, ma'am Felicity," the servant informed him after recognizing his voice.
An extreme fear covered Felicity's heart. He was confused because he was with her before that happened.
"At what hospital will they take her?" he asked, but the servant had no clue where.
He drove the car at high speed. His chest was pounding, and his brain felt like it was going to explode at any moment because of so many questions.
Felicity did not know what to do at that point. He was afraid that something bad might happen to Elyana and the child and if ever, he might not be able to forgive himself because it seemed it was his fault. He was the last with her and that only happened the day he visited.
Felicity was unable to catch the car transporting Elyana. He was unsure which hospital to visit first because there were two nearby. He simply decided to visit both.
He nearly crashed his car off the road, but he didn't care that much anymore because of his preoccupied mind. He arrived at the first hospital, but the front desk informed him that no patient with that name had been admitted. In the second hospital, someone was brought to them who was pregnant but about to give birth.
That wasn't Elyana. He was certain of this.
"Omg! Where did they take you??" he asked himself nervously.
Felicity was becoming anxious. He walked back and forth in the second hospital's lobby. He started thinking of a possible place they might take her and he froze when he got something.
Without a second thought, he went back to his car and drove fast again. When he arrived at that place, he spotted the car the Begums owned.
